37 weeks equals full term...

We have made it to full term, how exciting is that. As each day goes by I get more and more nervous and excited to finally be a mommy. I hope I can be the best mom ever and teach Presley the right things.

How far along: 37 weeks
How Big: Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard).

Weight Gain: Weighed in last Tuesday and I have gained 37 pounds. :(
Stretch Marks: yes on my tummy and now my sides
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: this tummy is way to big, cant get comfy
Symptoms: nothing honestly, don't mind being pregnant right now, minus the heat.
Best Moment this Week: hitting full term. whoot whoot
Food Cravings: nothing really this week its way to hot to think about food

Food dislikes: frozen meals still and always has been through this whole pregnancy
Gender: Girl still. my little princess
Movement: yes, you can tell she has no room in there and when she gets uncomfy she freaks out and moves her legs and arms at the same time
What I miss: wearing my normal spring and summer clothes
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: holding her in my arms
Milestone:  Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, her lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long.

I'm a slacker. 34, 35, 36 weeks...

Oh man I'm such a slacker. I'm sorry everyone! I will try to get better I promise. Anyways here is week 34, 35, and 36 combined.

34 weeks  35 weeks 36 weeks
How far along: 36 weeks tomorrow
How Big:
34 weeks: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long.

35 weeks: Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon)

36 weeks: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long.

Weight Gain: Got weighed yesterday and I'm up to 38 pounds total. :(
Stretch Marks: yes tummy, sides, and thighs
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, mostly all maternity shirts too
Sleep: depends on the night, its not that she keeps me up, its that I'm getting so big and can't sleep on my tummy
Symptoms: contractions off and on. We had a scare on Tuesday, May 22nd, but we are okay now.
Best Moment this Week: That we are now on weekly appointments
Food Cravings:Panda again

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Girl
Movement: yes all day long. :)
What I miss: I would have to say being able to wear my cute spring clothes
Belly Button: slowly coming up, not sticking out yet
What I am looking forward to: just being at 37 weeks knowing if she comes we are in the clear
Milestone:
34 weeks: Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.
35 weeks: Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
36 weeks: She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

This was me at 35 weeks and 2 days...

33 Weeks and 5 days...

Oh man I have slacked big time this week. Normally Im not this late on updating the blog. Plus I haven't taken a picture in a few weeks either. I need to do that for sure at 34 weeks. Anyways..... things have been going much better. Presley's room is coming along, hopefully it will be all done before she get here. I had my first baby shower on Saturday that my neighbor did. It was really nice and Presley got some cute stuff. We have 3 more baby showers coming up one on the 19th of May, June 2nd, and June 9th. We will be full term on June 2nd. Crazy huh? That's only like 3 weeks and 2 days away. So we went to the doctor today and Presley has rotated down waiting to come into this crazy world of ours. So all those kicks I have been feeling just below my ribs is her feet. What a stinker. I was released from physical therapy on Tuesday they think that my SI joint rolled back when Presley was making her rotation, because all of a sudden on Sunday/Monday this week I have felt AMAZING! So no more walking with a waddle, thank goodness. Tonight is our last 3rd trimester class and honestly both Robb and I are sad its already over. We have had some good times in that class, we sure will miss going every Thursday night. So anyways....here is the weekly update.

How far along: 33 weeks and 5 days
How Big: This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark

Weight Gain: Got weighed today and I have gained 36 pounds total :(
Stretch Marks: yes on my tummy :(
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: hasnt been to bad. Presley is sleeping through the night, so she hasnt been waking me up
Symptoms: nothing honestly, don't mind being pregnant right now, minus the heat.
Best Moment this Week: I would have to say it was today when I got to see my little girl for a bit in the Ultrasound
Food Cravings: Arby's fries and chocolate shake

Gender: Girl

What I am looking forward to: holding her in my arms
Milestone:  She's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal

Emotions and 31 weeks and 3 days..

Hey everyone, its that time of the week to update my blog with the weekly growth of Presley. Before I do that I just wanted to blog for a bit about how I'm doing. My emotions this week are crazy, they are getting the best of me. I'm so dang emotional that it sucks, and all I do is cry. I feel like I'm getting very depressed and that I don't want to do anything. Presley's room is still not done. Robb's Granny wanted the room done so that when she gets here on May 1st she can check it out, however thats not going to happen, since thats only a week away. I really wanted Presley's room to be done way before now and Robb still has so much more to do in there. My first baby shower is on May 5th. I'm not going to have anywhere to put her new stuff since her room isn't done. I think this has lots to do with me starting to get depressed. We only have 60 more days until her due date. I'm scared that her room won't be done before she gets here. Besides her room, work is getting a bit scary as well. We are slowly running out of work again like it did in January. Even though it hasnt happened yet, I'm getting a bit nervous which is making me stressed out. Anyways... thats how I have been feeling lately. Hopefully it gets better soon cause I dont know how much of this I can handle.

How far along: 31 weeks and 3 days
How Big: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt.

Weight Gain: 30lbs total, go back to the doctor on Thursday
Stretch Marks: yes on my tummy :(
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: same as last week
Symptoms: tired all the time again. all i want to do is sleep
Best Moment this Week: drywall, mudding, and sanding is all done. Still have tons to do
Food Cravings: turkey sandwhich
Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Girl
Movement: all the time, i dont think she ever stops. LOL
What I miss: I miss having engery, I feel like I'm always so exhausted
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: having Presley's room done and being able to hold her in my arms for the first time
Milestone: She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin.

30 weeks and 2 days...

68 more days, are you kidding me. Thats it only 68 more days until Presley's due date. Holy crap, I'm getting nervous!

How far along: 30 weeks and 2 days
How Big: Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage).

Weight Gain: 30lbs total
Stretch Marks: yes on my tummy :(
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: this week hasnt been so great, I cant get comfy
Symptoms: tired all the time again. all i want to do is sleep
Best Moment this Week: all the drywall is now up, someone is coming to mud tonight
Food Cravings: slurpees

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Girl still
Movement: all the time, its funny how she moves
What I miss: I miss having engery, I feel like I'm always so exhausted
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: having Presley's room done and being able to hold her in my arms for the first time
Milestone: A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

28 weeks and 2 days...

I can't believe we have made it to our third trimester. Its an amazing feeling knowing that Presley Afton will be here in just under 12 weeks if she comes by her due date. She moves so much, I know when she's taking a little nap because I dont feel anything at all. But man when she's awake I feel EVERYTHING!!!! Anyways... we only have 82 more days until her due date. Hopefully she comes before then, I dont think I can wait that long. She will be full term on June 2nd which that is only 2 months away from today! Crazy to think that in less the 3 months I will have my baby girl in my arms. It brings me to tears to think about how lucky we are to be blessed to have a child. Even though I havent liked being pregnant I wouldnt change it for anything. And yes I would do it all over again, if we get another chance. Anyways.... here is the weekly update.

How far along: 28 weeks and 2 days
How Big: weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels

Weight Gain: I went to the doctor on Friday and I have gained 30 pounds. HOLY CRAP, I know alot huh? But my doctor says thats fine since they are going off my BMI
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: sleep not so great, I'm dying of heat these days, so in the middle of the night I have been getting up and chilling on the deck while the dogs do their business
Symptoms: Migraines still and I'm dying of heat. I sit at work with the fan on me all day long!
Best Moment this Week: Knowing that we only have 4 more weekends to get Presley's room done. So I know Robb will be working hard on that
Food Cravings: reeses fast break still, I swear I have one every day!

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Girl, Princess Presley
Movement: all the time
What I miss: I miss having engery, I feel like I'm always so exhausted

27 weeks and 3 days...

How far along: 27 weeks and 3 days
How Big: baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended

Weight Gain: yes I know I have gained prob. 20-25lbs easily, I go to the doctor Thursday so I will know more then,
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: Oh man its wonderful and I wish I could sleep all the time.
Symptoms: Migraines are back, but this time 10 times worse and nothing is helping :(
Best Moment this Week: Throwing my husbands birthday party at Boondocks. It was a blast.
Food Cravings: reeses fast break still

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Girl!
Movement: all the time. I can tell when she's sleeping thats the only time I dont feel her move
What I miss: I miss having engery, I feel like I'm always so exhausted
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: Robb's 30th birthday on the 29th, I can't wait for 3rd trimester to start on March 31st, and starting our 3rd trimester class on April 5th
Milestone:  She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Fetal Fotos, 26 Weeks, Daddy & Presley...

So on Thursday afternoon we went to Fetal Fotos to see our Baby Girl. She has gotten so big from last time we were there. She looks like a newborn, with the chubby cheeks and all. She is still in love with having her hand by head. She still is my drama queen, very active little girl. There picture disk maker wasnt working so they saved all our photos and they are going to be mailing me a disk with all the photos. I cant wait to share them with all of you. She has her mommy and daddy's attitude. I say this because she was flipping us all off. No joke in the ultrasound video you see her bending every finger all at once except her middle one. It was funny, she did that after we pushed on ym tummy for a bit to try to get her to move her arm down and snap there goes the finger. She's starting young, I'm going to have to watch that. Anyways.... once I get the pics I will write up a new post with the pics on it.

Saturday was my 26 weeks, I can't believe we are already this far. It feels like just yesterday I took that pregnancy test. We are now in the double digits until our due date. Its coming up so fast, she's going to be here before we know it. I feel like if I blink it will be here, thats how fast it seems to be going. That afternoon was the first time Robb felt Presley kick. It was the most exciting thing to have him be able to feel her. I'm so glad he was able to. Reality is about to kick in for him that she's really in there and she's going to be here in 3 months. Anyways... here is my weekly survey.

How far along: 26 weeks and 2 days
How Big: She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches, an English Hothouse Cucumber from head to heel

Weight Gain: yes I know I have gained prob. 20-25lbs easily
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: Oh man its wonderful and I wish I could sleep all the time.
Symptoms: Swollen veins in my left leg still, and starting to get little back pains
Best Moment this Week: was able to see our chubby cheek baby girl!
Food Cravings: reeses fast break

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Still my little Princess
Movement: all the time. I can tell when she's sleeping thats the only time I dont feel her move
What I miss: Saturday night when everyone else was drinking green beer or mixed drinks and I was the only one who wasnt
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: Robb's birthday party on the 25th, Robb's 30th birthday on the 29th, and I can't wait for 3rd trimester to start on March 31st, and starting our 3rd trimester class on April 5th
Milestone:  The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat.

25 weeks and 2 days...

How far along: 25 weeks and 2 days
How Big: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn.

Weight Gain: yes I know I have gained prob. 22lbs.
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, alot of maternity shirts
Sleep: Wish I could have more of it. I feel like once I get into a really good deep sleep its time to wake up for work
Symptoms: Swollen veins in my left leg, which make my leg very sore
Best Moment this Week: seeing all the clothes my mom has bought for presley and the super cute ones from Hawaii.
Food Cravings: PEEPS

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, and I think will cont to be.
Gender: Still my little Princess
Movement: she loves to move around, still havent gotten Robb to feel her yet.
What I miss: fitting into cute spring clothes
Belly Button: still normal :)
What I am looking forward to: This week we will be hitting the double digits on days left until Presley's due date. Robb's birthday party on the 25th, Robb's 30th birthday on the 29th, and I can't wait for 3rd trimester to start on March 31st.
Milestone:  She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Saturday, March 3, 2012

24 weeks...

I can't believe we only have 16 more weeks (roughly) until Presley is going to be here! I can't wait!!

How far along: 24 weeks
How Big: Presley's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long picture a ear of corn. she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up.

Weight Gain: yes just got weighed on Tuesday and I have gained 19 pounds since my first weigh in on December 8th, 2011.
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, some maternity shirts
Sleep: Not sleeping good this week, all I want to do is lay on my tummy cause thats the only time I feel comfortable this week. I guess no more laying on my tummy until Presley gets here.
Symptoms: heartburn pretty much every day no matter what I eat or drink
Best Moment this Week: Buying Presley more clothes and having my Uncle Dave come over and sheetrocked the ceiling of Presley's closet, now I just need to get Robbie to finish the rest.
Food Cravings: Sweet tart Gummies still. YUMMY

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, I think that will always be my dislike through this pregnancy
Gender: TEAM PINK, Honey and I love being ahead of the boys again.
Movement: she's a little mover for sure, trying to keep track when so that we can go back to fetal fotos to see her.
What I miss: Snowboarding, we got tons of snow the last two days and all I can think about is boarding.
Belly Button: still normal
What I am looking forward to: We only have a few more weeks left of second trimester. I'm excited for the 3rd trimester because it means we are getting so close to meeting her. Oh yeah and going to start out 3rd trimester class on April 5th.
Milestone:  Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

The first REAL kick and 23 weeks 2 days...

So Saturday evening I was laying on the couch watching movies when I felt Presley moving around (the most I ever have for a long period of time). So I decided to place my hands on my tummy so I can feel the movements when all of a sudden I feel this big kick on my left hand. It was crazy, she kicked so hard my hand moved so I yelled for Robb to come feel her and once he put his hand on my tummy she stopped moving. That little stinker I want her daddy to be able to feel her. Maybe next time.

Anyways.... here is our weekly update.....

How far along: 23 weeks and 2 days
How Big: she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound about as much as a large mango

Weight Gain: yes, I have gained 18 pounds that I know of since my first weigh in on December 8th, 2011, I go back in tomorrow, hopefully not to much more.
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, some maternity shirts
Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good this week, she's been letting her mommy sleep at night.
Symptoms: heartburn and headaches
Best Moment this Week: was able to see my baby girl for a little bit at fetal fotos however she was sleeping. Found out she sleeps like her mommmy
Food Cravings: Sweet tart Gummies. YUMMY

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, I think that will always be my dislike through this pregnancy
Gender: Girl still, we had them check again at fetal fotos.
Movement: oh yeah I feel her kicking or punching about half the time to almost every time she moves.
What I miss: this week its beer again, hung out with friends and family Sunday for the Daytona 500, and they were all drinking and I so wanted to have a beer
Belly Button: still normal
What I am looking forward to: going back to fetal fotos in 2-3 weeks, hopefully she wont be sleeping when we go
Milestone:  Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Second Trip to Fetal Fotos...

So yesterday I let Presley listen to music all day and she was moving around like no other. So I was like this is perfect, she's going to be so active when we get to fetal fotos. Nope I was so wrong. She was pretty much sleeping. We couldnt get her to move around so we could get some pics. So the doctor had me lay on my right side for about 5-10 mins to see if she would move. The doctor came back in and she was still in the same position she was when I was on my back so we pushed on my tummy to see if that would do anything, she would just move her arm by her head and then started to cover her face. She must of been really tired from listening to music and dancing all day. So we wanted to try one more time before we left so the doctor had me lay on  my left side for about 5-10 mins. She came back in and Presley was so done she wouldnt move her hand away from her face and cont. to sleep. So we just had to let her be and get some rest. So Fetal Fotos gave us a voucher to come back another day. They will try two more times without charging us again. So I'm going to give it maybe about 2 weeks before we go back. I think I may have to go abck during the day time because that right now seems to be here active time. Which is fine for me because she's letting me sleep through the night. I felt bad that Presley didnt want to show off last night because my mom, gma, niece, and of course Robb were all there to watch her in action. Oh well maybe next time. We were able to only get three pics of her last night. One her sleeping just like her mom with her mouth a little open, the next when she moved her arm up to her head, and the last when she put her arm in front of her face.

Music...

So yesterday I let Presley listen to some music with me. I gave her earpiece and me an earpiece and we listened to Elvis Radio on Pandora. On some songs I can feel her move so much and others not so much. I wasnt sure if she was liking the music or trying to tell me to stop. So I'm going to try it again today. Maybe we will listen to... Mozart. Lets see how that goes.

Today we are going back to Fetal Fotos to see our sweet baby girl. I wish this day would fly by already.

Pregnancy...

Man I had no idea pregnancy was going to be like this. I'm not digging being pregnant at all. I wish I was one of those women who LOVED to be pregnant, however I'm not. I'm having a hard time dealing with this weight gain and getting this belly of mine. I miss my old clothes and being able to see my feet. The headaches and heartburn are the worse. I have never had such horrible pain ever, and I'm not a person who handles pain very well. Everyone says that in your second trimester you should feel your greatest, however I don't feel like that at all. Yes its been much easier from the first trimester, but this trimester is just all new symptoms that I'm having a hard time adjusting to. They say as well that you should have more energy. Not so much here all I want to do is sleep. I have never enjoyed sleeping so much until I got pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful that we are having a baby. Its the best feeling in the world knowing that I'm going to be a Mommy, and Presley is something that I helped create. I just wish the next 18 and half weeks will fly by so I can hold her in my arms, kiss on her, and be there for her. As well I'm grateful for Presley because Robb and I are doing amazing! Getting pregnant has made us so much closer then we have ever been in the last 3 and half years we have been together. I can't even imagine how close we will be when we are in the hospital and seeing our baby for the first time together. I feel like this is the biggest step in our life together as a family and its just going to get better from there.

21 weeks...

How far along: 21 weeks
How Big:  Presley now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long, length of a carrot.

Weight Gain: yes, I have gained 17 pounds since my first weigh in on December 8th, 2011
Stretch Marks: Nothing that I can see yet, I bet I will get them soon because my skin is so tight. I dont know how its going to be able to stretch anymore.
Maternity Clothes: all pants now, some maternity shirts
Sleep: sleep has been pretty good however, I would love to have afternoon naps.
Symptoms: Hungry, lovin food, however food is making me want to take more naps
Best Moment this Week: Spending time with my husband oh and buying Presley more clothes and bows.
Food Cravings: Chocolate Ice cream with bananas still

Food dislikes: frozen meals still, I think that will always be my dislike through this pregnancy
Gender: Girl still! :)
Movement: oh yeah I feel her kicking or punching about half the time.
What I miss: being able to bank PTO hours, so that means I'm going to have less time with Presley when she gets here :(
Belly Button: still normal
What I am looking forward to: fetal foto appointment Feb. 23rd and when we start going to the doctors every other week.
Milestone: You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now
